About Falguni Nayar :

Falguni Nayar - born in Mumbai, graduated from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, with a post-graduate degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Her father was a businessman who ran a ball-bearing business.

In 1993, she joined the mergers and acquisitions team at Kotak Mahindra Group. In 2005, she was appointed as the Managing Director. After 18 years of a job at Kotak, she bid adieu to her well-established career, to achieve her entrepreneurship dream.

In 2012, at the age of 50, she founded Nykaa and gave herself the tag - CEO of Nykaa. At that time the online market was also waiting for such a platform. The growing demand for cosmetic products and the rapid digitalization of the industry welcomed this platform.

She has received many accolades throughout her career. She was also listed as one of Asia’s Power Businesswomen 2019 by Forbes Asia. 

She has proven the very well known motivational saying “Age is just a number”. No one is too old or too young in terms of trying and exploring new things.

About Nykaa :

The name “Nykaa” is derived from the Sanskrit word Nayaka (Actress).

Nykaa initially started as an online corporation and eventually switched to being an omnichannel strategy. 

Nykaa has grown into India’s top e-commerce site for beauty products. The company has a diverse portfolio of beauty, personnel care and fashion products, including its owned manufactured brand products, under its two business verticles - Nykaa and Nykaa fashion.

Nykaa goes Public :

Nykaa has come up with the IPO opening from 28th October 2021 and closing on 1st November 2021, with the price band at Rs.1085-1125 per share. The IPO is from Nykaa’s parent, FSN E-Commerce Limited.

It plans to use the IPO proceeds to set up new retail stores and warehouses and for marketing and other promotional activities, as per the draft papers. 

Nykaa also aims to strengthen its brands such as Nykaa Cosmetics, Nykaa Naturals and Kay Beauty and to establish and promote fresh brands.
